Workshops and Retreats
April 24-27, 2008 -- Three Day Zen Retreat
Location: Alyson's Orchard, Walpole, New Hampshire
Time: Thursday evening through Sunday noon
Led by: James Myoun Ford Roshi and Melissa Myozen Blacker Sensei and David Dayan Rynick Sensei
James Myoun Ford Roshi is both a Unitarian Universalist minister currently serving as senior minister of the First Unitarian Society in Newton, MA, as well as a priest in the Soto Zen tradition. He is a Dharma successor of both Soto priest Jiyu Kennett Roshi and the lay Harada-Yasutani master John Tarrant Roshi.
Melissa Myozen Blacker Sensei is a Soto priest and Dharma successor to James Myoun Ford Roshi. She is also currently Co-Director of Professional Training at the Center for Mindfulness in the UMass Medical School.
David Dayan Rynick Sensei is a lay Zen teacher, a Dharma successor to George Bomun Bowman who was sanctioned as a teacher by Zen Master Seung Sahn. Zen Master Bowman has also continued his training for many years with the Rinzai priest Joshu Sasaki Roshi. David is currently a life and leadership coach.
Sesshin: an intensive seven-day Zen meditation retreat. Nine hours of meditation a day, liturgy, oryoki (meditative dining) and dokusan (private interviews with the teacher)
